The Studio of Katie Laurel Inglis is an interdisciplinary design practice creating human-centered brands, environments, and interactive experiences. Focused on the intersection of beauty and utility, each project delivers meaningful value to the communities they serve.
I’m an enthusiast driven to solve problems of all shapes and sizes.
Reflecting the World
At the core of my design practice is consideration for the world in which we live and work. I aim to build beautiful and useful tools that integrate seamlessly into the contexts in which they work. The natural world brings inspiration, respect, and big-picture thinking, all of which are critical for the success of any plan or design.
Designing for All
My studio is interdisciplinary, meaning I’m drawn to solving problems of all kinds. I have 20 years of experience building products and experiences of all shapes. I apply everything I know to making things that are beautiful, useful, and improve the communities in which they exist. No project is too big or too small.
Marfa Bird Club
I helped found and currently run the largest and most active outdoor club in the tri-county area. The Marfa Bird Club is an inclusive, fun, and educational place to build community around common interests, get out into nature, and learn together. It is important to me to put good design into practice and learn from my community.
Marfa Parks & Rec
I believe it’s important to give as much as you get, so I volunteer on the Parks & Rec Board, where I bring my design and consulting skills to the community. I’ve led the rebuilding of neglected parks, engaged Marfa’s citizens in planning the future of their public spaces, and I’m working to plan the future of recreation across Marfa.
My mission is to empower dynamic teams to create visionary products and experiences that build community and address real human needs.
With over 18 years directing design strategy for global brands such as Sonos and frog design, I now run an independent interdisciplinary studio practice spanning painting, brand identity, environmental design, and community-driven projects.
I thrive at the intersection of innovation, strategy, and collaboration—driving impact, nurturing creativity, and delivering meaningful change while exploring the landscapes of the American West through my art and recreation.
